Joe Schuerger- Owner

Joe Schuerger is a Firefighter/Paramedic and Tactical Emergency Medical Support (TEMS) medic with real-world experience in complex, high-pressure environments. He serves as the lead medic for a multi-jurisdictional SWAT team, providing care during critical incidents.

He also works with a major hospital system as a liaison for multiple SWAT teams across Northeast Ohio, helping connect tactical operations with advanced medical support.

Through Buckeye TacMed, Joe brings that experience into practical training—helping individuals, businesses, and agencies build confidence and improve their readiness for real-world emergencies.

Lead Instructors

Our lead instructors bring real-world experience into every class. Our team includes medical professionals from a range of backgrounds—Firefighter/Paramedics, Tactical EMS (TEMS) medics, physicians, and other experienced providers—many of whom actively support multi-jurisdictional tactical teams.

They have treated critical injuries in demanding environments and bring that experience directly to their instruction.

Collectively, they have taught tactical medicine across Northeast Ohio to law enforcement, fire/EMS, and other first responders—focused on practical skills that translate to the field when it matters most.
